| Below is a list of physical and mental requirements as well as the equipment needed in order to become an Operator. UPDATE 10/28/08- This post has been edited in accordance with the changes made to the new protocol. PSOG is now more informal and you are now given more flexibility in terms of the camouflage patterns.
Clarification of the term 'Accessory': an accessory or accessories in this article is defined as any equipment that is not the actual uniform. the 'uniform' is the camouflage fatigues, combat boots and head cover. The term 'Accessory' may refer to: Any vest or Load Bearing Equipment (LBE), knee pads and elbow pads, Molle equipment, holsters and the like. Physical Requirements*The ability to sustain a comfortable jogging pace for 3-5 minutes. -You will be trained and tested to meet this requirement. Best come prepared. *Must be able to vault over and on top of objects up to five and a half feet in height with relative ease. -Again, best come prepared. There will be drills. *Have relatively good balance and adequate maneuverability -You will need to be able to move quickly from cover to cover without tripping all over the place. *Must not be slower than the average human being -Not too much of a worry. It's not a very demanding requirement. If somehow you are slower, Stop eating those damn Twinkies, soldier! Mental Requirements*Must be courageous. (not a pansy) -Don't be afraid of a 6mm plastic pellet. Don't be afraid of running out while being fired on. Don't be afraid of the dark, either. *The ability to focus -No one cares that there's a butterfly on your sniper rifle and it's blocking your scope. Move it out of the way and do your damn job. *Must be intuitive -You can be taught all the tactics in the world but they will mean nothing if you don't know when to use them, when to bend the tactics, and when to generally think outside the box. *Must be efficient despite low morale -It's a rainy day, you're out of MREs, and you're thirsty, and you were just ambushed by an enemy squad. Cry me a river, drown the enemy in it, and then drink it. Problem solved.*Fairly quick thinker (with tactics, and the ability to put things into words) -"OPFOR, 2 o' clock by the barn, 50 meters!" NOT "Bdeh bdeh bdeh there's uhh an uhh enemy..over there, sir..!" Save the stutter and mutter for the end of the game, Porky Pig. Required Items
*An Airsoft Gun - $100+. The only equipment requirement for training. Chances are, you probably have one. Preferred range is $100+. If you are not sure which gun to buy, contact a Senior Operator, and he or she will help you. Must be an assault rifle, machine gun or sub machine gun. *Some sort of vest or load bearing equipment - $45+. You can now choose any type of vest or load bearing equipment (LBE) in any color or camouflage pattern. The UTG Crossdraw tactical vest is a good example.
*Any camouflage pattern that is predominantly tan or brown. Contractor Tactical, Tricolor Desert, and Coyote Brown are acceptable. These patterns are to be used in the fall and winter seasons. Patterns that are predominantly green like Woodland, Olive Drab, Woodland MARPAT and TigerStripe are allowed to be used during the spring and summer season. While Black, ACU, Multicam and other urban patterns are acceptable for accessory patterns, they are not allowed as a uniform. *Shemagh $10 to $13 - A scarf-like cloth used for many purposes such as a head wrap, an arm sling, a tourniquet, etc. Must be Olive Drab. *Combat Boots - $20+. Must be boots that can be bloused. 20 dollars will get you the recommended Jungle Combat Boots (picture below) Get them in black or tan.*Water Storage -$12+ - Hydration is a MUST! Get a Camelbak or a canteen or two. More info here.*Eye wear - $10+ - Another MUST! if you are under 18, they must be fully sealed. They must be rated ANSI Z87.1 . Read more HereRecommended/Optional Items*Accessories for your Airsoft Gun - Scopes, Laser sights, bipods, foregrips, etc. Moderately Recommended. * Extra Magazines - EXTREMELY recommended! If you only have one magazine for your gun, you're an idiot. It doesn't matter if it's Hi-Cap. Make use of your mag pouches and buy more cartridges. *Head Wear - Boonie hat, Bandanna, Patrol Cap, Mitch Helmet, IBH, etc. It looks cool, so get one. Also, it provides head protection. Fairly Recommended. *Sidearm - Your sidearm is your best friend, whether it's a small machine pistol, a spring gun, or a gas blow back. Also get extra magazines for your sidearm. Highly Recommended. *Pistol holster. If you have a pistol and you don't have a vest that comes with a holster, get one.. Or if you want to switch out the Crossdraw holster on the Tactical Vest for more mag pouches. Mandatory only if you have a pistol. *Knee pads - Safety first, and they look cool. Highly Recommended. *Elbow pads - Again, safety first. Moderately recommended. Operators are encouraged to personalize and customize their uniform as they see fit. as long as you adhere to the general rule about the color of your camouflage fatigues, and the necessities like eye wear, hydration and whatever else there may be, you can add on whatever you like.

| My vest didn't come with the shotgun shell band that goes over the map pouch, so if anyone gets theirs and dosn't need it i'd pay $5 to get it... I need it to hold my signal chemlights. | |

| Aright a quick question should i stay with my 460 fps sniper or do i swap it for a 430 fps M4 with the same scope becasuse i think that the ranges in which we will be engageing would not really need a sniper rifle as the M4 has pretty much the same FPS and with the scope the accuracy would be almost the same at that range. and also i think if i had a weapon capable of automatic fire it would be more usefull. | |

| Trust me, you will need as much range as you can get. The airsoft fields are HUGE, miles long and wide. Show me the M4 though..is it the JG M4 S-System with the scope that's at hitguns.com?

The scope is better than the one on the BE AWM before and if i use .25 rounds it will be very accurate too. I'd go for the AWM, we already have like 6 people with automatics. We can cover you, one of us will be your spotter and keep you covered. If I were you I'd get like a 70-80 dollar MP5 as a backup automatic, or if you want get a good M4 but, primarily we need a sniper rifle.

You should make it a K, don't want the thing flapping around when you're lining up a shot... Aznboy - I'll let you rent my 3-9X40 if you want. I checked it out - The mounts I have on it fit weaver and picatinny rails.

| lol my cousin just got army of 2 yesterday that game is AWSOME too bad i cant play it that much. oh and i also found a better sniper its still the awm but it is just a upgraded version of it shooting 460 with .2g bbs and comes with bipod, 2 mags, rilfle sling, but unfortunatly no scope. so i might need snowzaks.
oh and one more thing i think i should get an mp5 not an mp5k because after looking at about 2 dozen different kinds of both i saw that the mp5 versions of the airsoft gun had more firepower for a lower price.

| Um Venom i thought you said night vision was from 40-300 dollars. Every single night vision unit is always more than 120 bucks. You cannot find one for less. And i found out that there is different kinds of night vision. The cheap ones for under 100 are not night vision. They simply have anti glare ruby coated lenses to make images slightly more clear and claim that it is night vision.
Oh and one last thing snowzak does your scope have night vision?

| You can get cheap crap Gen Is that attach to a handycam for $50. I myself got my Gen I monacle for $200, and I love it. Not only do I look like a BAMF pulling the thing over my beret, but it's KIND of useful.
NVGs are useful and cool-looking, but i dunno if we really are going to need them until we start actually attending games, let alone night games.
And no, my scope is just a a plain old Bushnell Blazer 9x40. It does come with lens covers, though. DON'T GET IT SHOT.
